Ardlussa Cottage

Ardlussa Cottage is a former lock keeper’s cottage set on the banks of the Caledonian Canal at Gairlochy. The soothing bath in the bedroom and the wood burner in the lounge makes this cottage ideal for a romantic break or a honeymoon. The fantastic location adds to its charm. Gairlochy is a small hamlet on the southern shores of Loch Lochy and boasts tranquil and picturesque scenery. Situated between the Caledonian Canal and the Commando Memorial, it is surrounded by several other small crofting settlements. The Great Glen Way and the Great Glen Mountain Bike Trail are literally on your doorstep. Fort William the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’, Nevis Ski Range and Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain, are all nearby. The area is renowned for its spectacular mountains, lochs, glens and abundant wildlife with golden eagles, wild deer, pine martens, seals and porpoises often seen. Take a trip on the Jacobite Steam train as seen in the Harry Potter movies, visit stunning castles and gardens, sail to the beautiful Isle of Mull, spend a day exploring the Ardnamurchan Peninsula or just take a leisurely walk along the banks of the canal. For the outdoor enthusiast climbing, walking, skiing, mountain biking, fishing, horse riding and various watersports are available locally. Spean Bridge is home to a nine hole golf course, a restaurant, pub and a small village shop. Inverness, Loch Ness, Aviemore and the magical Isle of Skye are easily accessible.

All electric, bed linen and towels included. Fuel for wood burner provided. Travel cot and highchair available. Enclosed, lawned garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). No smoking. NB: Canal 20 yards.
